Police have arrested a 30-year-old who killed a pedestrian while intoxicated and dumped the body into an agricultural waterway.



Gyeonggi Yongin Dongbu Police Station announced on the 4th that it had arrested driver A in his 30s on charges of violating the Act on Aggravated Punishment of Specific Crimes (organic death).



Person A is accused of striking and killing Mr. B in his 60s, who was walking on the shoulder of a handcart while driving drunk on a two-lane two-lane road in Cheoin-gu, Yongin-si, Gyeonggi-do, around 8:30 pm on the 28th of last month.



Mr. A, who had run away after the accident, reappeared at the scene at 4:50 a.m. on the 29th, about 8 hours later, confirmed that Mr. B was dead, and then pushed the body into an agricultural waterway 2 to 3 meters away and abandoned.




According to the police, B's body was found by a passerby around 5:30 a.m. on the same day. After receiving the 112 report, the police checked vehicle debris at the scene of the accident and analyzed nearby CCTV footage.



A's vehicle was found at a car center about 5 km away from the accident site. After confirming that the signs of damage to the vehicle and the fragments collected at the scene match, the police interrogated Mr.



It is said that Mr. A admitted to the crime by stating in the police investigation that "I was afraid of causing a car accident due to drunk driving, so I ran away and abandoned the body."



A police official said, "The detained suspect has been sent to the prosecution, and the results of the autopsy of the corpse and the drunk driving test will be handed over to the prosecution after further investigation."
