Berlin (dpa / bb) - Medical practices in Berlin and Brandenburg have received significantly less corona vaccine than planned in the past few weeks.
Other federal states, on the other hand, received even more than planned, as the Rundfunk Berlin-Brandenburg (RBB) reported on Tuesday, citing data from the Paul Ehrlich Institute.
According to this, the medical practices in the capital last week and the previous week received a good 7,200 fewer Biontech vaccine doses than the country allowed according to the distribution key.
In Brandenburg there were almost 2,700 fewer than expected.
In contrast, seven federal states received more vaccine than planned.
In Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania alone, according to the data, there were almost 13,000 more, and in Lower Saxony over 8,000 more.
In no other federal state was the gap as large as in Berlin.
Doctors in private practice had repeatedly criticized in the past that vaccine deliveries had been cut.
Berlin's Senator for Health Dilek Kalayci (SPD) asked the Federal Ministry of Health to actually deliver the promised quantities of vaccine.
The Ministry of Health Minister Jens Spahn (CDU) informed the RBB that more than 55,000 medical practices nationwide are currently being supplied with vaccines.

In fact, the fluctuations were not always uniform.
In several countries such as Bavaria, Baden-Württemberg and Hesse, there were more vaccine doses in one week that were first sent to pharmacies and then to practices via wholesalers - and less in the other.
"All those involved are trying to compensate for any deviations with the upcoming deliveries," said a ministry spokeswoman.
