At least if the city's environmental department and Frankfurter Entsorgungs- und Service GmbH (FES) have their way.
On Thursday you presented a number of technical projects that will be used in green spaces in the future.
Among other things, an intelligent irrigation system for park trees, trash cans with digital fill level indicators and robots that are to be used to clean the park were presented.
"In addition to the cleaning teams, we also need innovative, digital answers in order as a city to make optimal use of the citizens' money," said Claudia Gabriel, head of the Clean Frankfurt Office. “I'm counting on some of the solutions tested here to prove themselves and then to be rolled out more broadly.” FES Managing Director Dirk Remmert emphasized that digitization offers great, so far unused potential for the cleanliness of the city of Frankfurt. The FES has resolved to comprehensively optimize its work processes with the help of new, innovative technology.
The technical gem of the presentation is the autonomous cleaning robot from the Munich company Angsa. "The machine focuses on garbage that is difficult for humans to see," said Angsa co-founder Bilal Tariq. The robot can independently clear up to 400 square meters of parking space from broken glass, cigarette remains and crown corks per hour. The FES will decide from an economic point of view whether such a robot should be purchased in the future as soon as the model has been fully developed.
