Determine the date for deciding the fate of Barcelona's President Bartomeu

The Spanish newspaper "Marca" revealed today that the Barcelona club administration has set the date of January 29 to decide on the issue of withdrawing confidence from the current president, Joseph Bartomeu.

The candidate for the presidency of the club, Jordi Vary, handed the Barcelona administration a document bearing 20,687 signatures from the club's members, calling for a public meeting of the club to withdraw confidence from President Bartomeu.

Verification of signatures has moved to the second stage, and is nearing completion, provided that voting takes place within five days only.

The members calling for Bartomeu's departure enjoy wide support from Barcelona fans, as well as the Catalan Football Association.

These claims come in light of a series of setbacks the team suffered under Bartomeo's presidency, perhaps the most prominent of which was Barcelona's historic 8-2 loss from Bayern Munich in the European Champions, in addition to being accused of wasting club money in failed deals, as well as accusations made by the Catalan police. He was corrupted in the wake of the scandal of a PR firm with which Bartomeu was linked.
