Highly pathogenic avian influenza emerged from wild bird feces in Cheonan, Chungnam.

The Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs announced that the avian influenza antigen was detected in the area of Bonggangcheon, Cheonan on the 23rd, and as a result of precise analysis, it was confirmed as highly pathogenic.

It is the first time in 2 years and 8 months that highly pathogenic avian influenza emerged from domestic wild birds.

The Ministry of Agriculture and Food has implemented movement control on No. 188 of the poultry farm within a 10 km radius when the antigen was detected yesterday.

Due to this highly pathogenic confirmation, people and vehicles within a 500m radius of the detection point are prohibited from entering.

Three local governments, including Cheonan, Asan, and Sejong, have decided to prohibit the entry of livestock vehicles to the control section of livestock vehicles at migratory birds.

In particular, the poultry sales office in the traditional market in Cheonan will be suspended until the movement restrictions are lifted.
