During this period, the area of rainforest destruction was found to be 24,100 square kilometers, equivalent to 3.3 million soccer stadiums.

Since then, an organization called All Rise, which includes ecologists, scientists and lawyers, has recently filed a complaint with the International Criminal Court (ICC) against President Bolsonaro for responsibility for the destruction of the Amazon rainforest.

The group alleges that President Bolsonaro is committing crimes against humanity while continuing to neglect or encourage the destruction of the Amazon rainforest.
