Despite the store death - Ikea is investing in a large department store in the city center

The pandemic has hit stores and their sales hard.

This has led to more and more stores having to close or move out to shopping centers outside the city center.

Ikea now chooses to defy store deaths and opens a new department store in the center.

The new department store will be over 8,000 square meters and consist of four floors.

In the department store, you will have all the products in the range to "feel and squeeze", but "only" a quarter of the range will be available for purchase directly in the store.  

The new store is expected to be ready in the summer of 2022.
