Regarding the Japanese government's decision to release radioactive material contaminated water at the Fukushima No. 1 nuclear power plant, Japanese Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Taro Aso said today (on the 13th), "Drinking that water doesn't matter."

He actively defended the government's decision, saying that the concentration of tritium in the contaminated water to be discharged by Japan was "less than what China or Korean nuclear power plants are discharging into the sea."

Deputy Prime Minister Aso also added that the Japanese government's decision to release the seas "is based on scientific grounds, and I think,'I would have decided earlier...'"
