Berlin (dpa) - The delivery service Delivery Hero has prematurely extended the contracts of its board members for another four years.

CEO and co-founder Niklas Östberg and CFO Emmanuel Thomassin have agreed to extend the contract until the end of April 2026, the Dax group announced on Tuesday in Berlin.

In addition, the Supervisory Board has appointed Pieter-Jan Vandepitte as the third member of the Management Board (COO).

He has been taking care of the operational business since 2015.

His board contract also runs until 2026.

In the first quarter, Delivery Hero continued to benefit from strong demand as a result of the global corona measures, which make going out in restaurants hardly possible.

The number of orders on a comparable basis rose by 88 percent to 663 million.

After the good start to the current financial year, the delivery service plans to more than double its annual turnover in 2021 compared to the previous year to 6.1 to 6.6 billion euros.

Delivery Hero also benefits from a takeover.

On a comparable basis, the group expects sales to increase by up to almost 90 percent.

In operational terms, Delivery Hero will continue to be in the red.
