In this, Minister Kishi expressed the idea that the Maritime Police Law, which allowed China to use weapons by the China Coast Guard, was absolutely unacceptable because of its inconsistency with international law.



Regarding Taiwan, he said, "It is located to connect the East China Sea and the South China Sea, which are important points for regional ocean security, and the peace and stability of the Taiwan Strait is important for the region and the international community."



On that basis, "I would like to redefine our defense cooperation not only as a bilateral cooperation but also as a cooperation to contribute more positively to the peace and stability of the region and the international community.
