With deconfinement, several sectors shut down in recent months will be able to resume.

The Minister of the Economy Bruno Le Maire received the professionals of the hotel and catering industry on Monday to discuss the schedule and measures to facilitate the resumption of activity.

A marathon of negotiations has started at Bercy.

Bruno Le Maire has been receiving all the sectors most affected by the Covid crisis since Monday, to see how to gradually reduce state aid depending on the recovery.

The first receipts were the professionals of the hotel and catering industry.

Even before negotiating on aid, the Ministry of the Economy wants to ensure that the summer season goes well after the long months of closure.

Aid until September

In this perspective, hoteliers will be authorized to open their restaurants from May 19, including indoors - where only terraces will be allowed elsewhere -.

However, the rooms will only be accessible to hotel guests.

Another good news for the profession, the summer should pass without gauge, according to information from the president of the federation of hotel chains, Jean-Virgile Crance.

"From this summer, we would no longer have a gauge to apply, whatever our activity - hotel restaurants or not -. There would be no more gauge from the month of July", details t -he.

In parallel with this displayed support, the government would gradually reduce aid before completely withdrawing the infusion in September. The whole question is to know at what rate this degression will take place and according to what method of calculation. The hotel and restaurant industry warns that the recovery will not be the same for everyone. In particular, there is the question of large cities like Paris, which will not be able to restart until foreign customers and business tourism have returned.
