Potsdam (dpa / bb) - On Death Sunday (November 22nd), many Brandenburgers commemorate their deceased relatives.

The church year ends before Advent on the Protestant Day of Remembrance, which is officially called Eternity Sunday and is dedicated to the memory of the deceased.

In addition to commemorating the dead, services on this day traditionally also call for a more conscious approach to life - due to the corona pandemic, however, fewer people than usual are likely to go to church this year.

The cemeteries in Brandenburg are still open despite Corona, so that relatives can lay flowers at graves and think about the deceased there in peace. The usual distance regulations of 1.5 meters to people from another household also apply in cemeteries. At 5 p.m. on Sunday, an ecumenical consolation night from the St. Gotthard Church in Brandenburg (Havel) will be broadcast on the Internet and on television.
