Primoz Roglic (Jumbo Visma) won the Tour de l'Ain on Sunday at the end of the 3rd and last stage which he also won at the top of the Grand Colombier.

The Slovenian thus achieves the double after his victory the day before in the second stage and shows that he will be one of the men to watch in the Tour de France (August 29-September 12).

He is ahead of the general holding the Grande Boucle, Egan Bernal, and Nairo Quintana.

The psychological war between the Ineos team of Bernal, at the forefront much of the day on Sunday, and the Jumbo Visma of Roglic, always on their heels, turned to the advantage of the Dutch team, impressive in the three stages of this Tour de l'Ain.

Sunday, everything was decided in the last 400 meters, after an attack from Bernal, quickly joined by Roglic, who then won easily against his rival.

The stage, with its triptych, ascent of the Selle de Fromentel, col de la Biche and Grand Colombier, an almost identical copy of the 15th stage of the Tour, took place in a blazing heat.

It was notably driven by a breakaway from Andrea Bagioli (Deceuninck), a young Italian hope winner of the first stage, joined by Julien Bernard (Trek Segafredo), wearing the polka dot jersey. But the two men were caught on the ascent of the Grand Colombier, 12 km from the finish. Just before the final fight between the Jumbo and the Ineos.
