New phone call between Joe Biden and Vladimir Poutin on Ukraine Thursday.

The two men will meet by phone to discuss all the hot topics of the moment, and mainly the Ukrainian issue.

The United States accuses Russia of having positioned 100,000 troops on the Ukrainian border.

Vladimir Putin and Joe Biden have a telephone meeting ten days before the start of the talks on security in Europe.

It is above all the Ukrainian question that will be discussed.

A situation that remains tense.

One goal: to lower the tension

The US presidency has let it be known that Joe Biden will encourage Vladimir Putin to de-escalate through diplomatic channels in the Ukrainian dossier.

The American president wants to lower the tension with Russia while remaining firm, because the two countries are clearly in a moment of crisis, as explained by the White House, which specifies that it is the Russians who requested this phone call .

Washington has been worried for weeks about the presence of 100,000 Russian troops along the Ukrainian border.

A figure denied by Moscow.

Yet the Americans say they are ready to respond to any Russian invasion and the threat of additional sanctions remains.

Another statement noticed yesterday, that of Secretary of State Antony Blinken, during an interview with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.

He reaffirmed the unwavering support of the United States for the sovereignty of Ukraine.

The Ukrainian president also explained on Twitter that he had received assurances, I quote, of full American support to counter a possible Russian attack.
