In the Baiyangdian area, reeds are widely used. There is a saying that "one inch of reed is one inch of gold". Residents who have lived here for generations use reeds to make paper, weave mats, weave baskets, play curtains and make reed handicrafts.

Yang Bingjun is a native of Baiyangdian, and his career in reed painting for more than 30 years is closely related to this lake.
