The Public Health Commission studies further shortening quarantines

The Public Health Commission will study this Tuesday the possibility of

further reducing the quarantine and isolation period for

positive cases of

coronavirus

, which is currently seven days, although several communities want it to be lowered to between 3 and 5.

Starting at four o'clock, the general directors of public health of the Ministry of Health and of the communities will address the epidemiological situation and the vaccination strategy against covid, as well as the common 2022 vaccination calendar, reports Efe.

On the debate table, the duration of the quarantines, which several communities insist that must be shortened.

In Spain, the isolation of the positives lasts for seven days if they are asymptomatic and those who develop a mild picture of the disease;

In no case is a test mandatory for return to work, except in professions such as health or residence workers.

Meanwhile, the duration of the quarantine of close contacts is also seven days for people who are not vaccinated -those who have the complete schedule are exempt-, as long as they do not develop symptoms during this period.
