Spain faces its third Covid summer with a health situation that is similar to that experienced in previous waves.
Seventh wave:
infections continue to increase and the number of hospitalized is similar to that of four months ago.
Health has recorded 68,186 new cases of coronavirus, of which 33,664 have occurred in people over 60 years of age.
A figure that has increased by 10,000 cases in three days and that brings the total number of infections in Spain to 12,681,820 since the start of the pandemic.
The latest report published by Health accumulates the highest number of infections for the month of June, which began with 42,989.
The figure for this Friday increased by 17,951 more positives compared to the data from three days ago.
The incidence has risen again, marking the highest this month, with 755.71 positive cases per 100,000 inhabitants, after a declining streak, according to the indicators for risk assessment established by Health.
Which means that
Spain is at 'medium risk' according to the risk assessment established by the Ministry.
The Community of Madrid is the territory with the highest number of infections, 761.18 positive people per 100,000 inhabitants in the last seven days.
On the other hand,
Andalusia is the least affected
region with 128.73 cases per 100,000 inhabitants, according to the monitoring indicators established by the department led by Darias.
The rest of the Autonomous Communities are at level 2, with La Rioja being the most affected with 683.73 positives in the last seven days, followed by the Balearic Islands with 518.82 cases of coronavirus in the same range.
As for hospitalizations, Spain falls back to February levels.

the highest figure for the entire month of June.
The health system is experiencing a situation similar to the one it assumed in February with 7,824 admissions for coronavirus.
Four months later there are almost 700,000 more people vaccinated with the complete schedule and a million and a half more with the first booster dose, situations that differentiate both dates.
In total there is 92.7% with the two doses and 53.5% with the booster injection.

Guadalajara enters alert four with 20%

The traffic light turns red -alert level 3- in the provinces of
Madrid, Toledo, Ávila and Albacete

On the other hand, Córdoba is the only Spanish province on alert 1, that is, with less than 2% of people admitted to acute care.
The rest of the provinces have an orange traffic light - around 5-10% occupancy.

Health has 388 people admitted to intensive care throughout the territory, the highest figure for the month of June.

it is stated that since March 28 there have been
34,875 hospitalizations in people over 60 years of age.
This represents 78% of the total population that has needed to be admitted to a hospital due to the virus.
On that same date, the highest percentage of hospitalization at risk age was observed in those over 90 years old (17.1%), and in the group of 80 to 89 years old (11.9%), being observed in the first group of age the highest lethality (2.9%).

The ISCIII report also notes that, at the national level, between weeks 22/2022 (May 30-June 5) and 23/2022 (June 6-12),
the weekly incidence of COVID-19 in people 60 years of age or older increases by 2%
in a statistically significant way.

Omicron variants are made with Spain
The latest Health report has indicated the presence of the BA.2 lineage in Spain.
During week 22 of 2022 (May 30 to June 5),
the Autonomous Communities are considering the percentages between 55.7% and 91.2%.
That same week, for lineages
BA.4 and BA.5
it is between 5.5% and 44.3%.
Those with
more than 20% of cases with these lineages are the Balearic Islands, Galicia, Extremadura, Castilla y León and Asturias.
In Madrid, the Valencian Community, Castilla-La Mancha and Murcia, no specific data on these lineages have been collected.
The presence of these variants can be attributed to the increase in cases in the different Autonomous Communities.
