Covid-19 in Mexico: for greater surveillance at the American border

Usually it is the United States that wants to control and even prevent the arrival of Mexicans on their territory - the wall of President Donald Trump is no longer presented north of the Rio Grande. But with the coronavirus and the outbreak in the United States, several governors of Mexican states located near the border are demanding much tighter control of travelers from the United States.

"  The situation is very bad in Texas, and these people who cross the border can only bring us problems,  " complained a few days ago the governor of the state of Tamaulipas, in northern Mexico - he just announced after being tested positive for coronavirus.

Because if for months the United States ensures that only those whose trips are considered "essential" cross their border, Mexican side the question is rarely asked, and hundreds of thousands of Americans continue to visit the country for their leisure.

Faced with the catastrophic health situation in the United States , the governors of the Mexican states close to the border therefore expressed their fears to the central government, especially since the weekend of July 4, American National Day, brought traditionally a crowd of American nationals and this time of potential patients in the country.

Mexico City has promised to check the temperature of travelers at several border crossings. And the US ambassador to Mexico addressed Americans living on the other side of the border, urging them not to cross it. However, despite the pandemic, Washington continues its evictions in Mexico, and several people have tested positive for coronavirus after their arrival on the other side of the border.
