Hospital pressure continues to grow: 2,498 patients are currently treated in critical care services which treat the most serious cases (including resuscitation), against 2,491 Thursday.

In 24 hours, 250 new patients were admitted to these services.

“

We hardly ever have a bed available, as soon as there is a bed that becomes available someone arrives but it remains manageable on a human level.

It is when we are going to be asked to open beds that it will be much more complicated because we have no paramedical staff,

testifies Stéphane Gaudry, the deputy head of the intensive care unit at the Avicenne hospital in Bobigny.

We must no longer pull too much on the caregivers' rope because otherwise it will break, we already have too many caregivers who want to come and work with us, if we continue to do that, it will be an absolute disaster in the months to come

 " , he told RFI.

The white plan reactivated in several regions

To avoid congestion in critical care services, seven regions have reactivated the white plan, which notably allows operations to be deprogrammed and staff to be reassigned to critical care services.

Regarding vaccination, 52,248,386 people received at least one injection (or 77.5% of the total population) and 51,172,620 people are now fully vaccinated (75.9% of the total population).

Since September, 13,766,535 people have received

a booster dose

.

On Friday, the Minister of Health Olivier Véran set the goal of vaccinating 20 million French people with a booster dose against Covid-19 by Christmas.
