Record contagions in Europe: the second wave continues to grow across the continent

October 16, 2020 The administrative court of Berlin overturned the regulation introduced in the German capital a week ago about the closure of bars and restaurants from 11 pm to 6 am as a containment measure against the spread of Covid-19.

This was announced by Dpa.

The court upheld an appeal from a dozen locals, judging the measure disproportionate.

The applicants argued that the closure of the meeting places does not prevent young people from meeting elsewhere, perhaps where the hygiene measures provided for in the premises are not applied.

Germany set the record for infections for two consecutive days.

As announced by the Robert Koch Institute for Infectious Diseases, 7,334 new cases of Covid-19 were ascertained in the country in 24 hours, after the 6,634 announced yesterday.

The total of cases rises to 348,557.

In Berlin, there are 551 new infections.
