Our goal is that from August 9 these tourists present on national soil can obtain passes on the same model as the French living outside France

", declared the Secretary of State in charge of Tourism Jean-Baptiste Lemoyne on the radio France Inter.

We are setting up a dedicated scalable system that will ramp up to meet these demands,

" he added without giving further details.

Since Monday, the government has put in place a system so that French expatriates living outside the European Union and vaccinated abroad "

with vaccines recognized by the European Medicines Agency

" can obtain a special health pass.

Pending the decision of the Constitutional Council

Faced with the outbreak of the Covid-19 epidemic, which has killed more than 112,000 in France, the health pass (recent negative Covid test, vaccination certificate or certificate of recovery) entered into force on July 21 in the "Places of leisure and culture" bringing together more than 50 people.

It is to be extended Monday to cafes, restaurants, mainline trains and domestic flights, as well as non-emergency patients and visitors to health establishments and retirement homes.

Subject to the decision expected this Thursday from the Constitutional Council, seized by left-wing deputies.

In addition, Jean-Baptiste Lemoyne wished to reassure foreign students by announcing that "

the principle is established that we will welcome international students who are registered in the establishments

 ".

We will announce in the coming days the practical modalities that will allow them to come,

" he added.
