The 22nd Civil Agreement of the Seoul Central District Court (Chief Judge Oh Deok-sik) made this decision today (17th) on the second hearing date of the claim for damages filed by Kim against the former Governor Ahn and Chungcheongnam-do.
This appears to be a procedure to confirm Mr. Kim's claim that he is suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) as a result of sexual violence and secondary assault, as the court accepted Kim's previous application.
The court concluded the trial after notifying, "It seems that the trial can proceed further only after the results of the physical examination come out." "The next date will be specified later."
Kim, who served as an assistant to the former governor, sparked the 'Me too' movement by revealing that he had been sexually assaulted and molested by the former governor in March 2018.
Afterwards, Ahn was indicted on charges of adultery of the supervised person, molestation by force of work, and forced molestation, and the sentence of three years and six months in prison was confirmed by the Supreme Court.
In July of last year, after Ahn's conviction was confirmed, Mr. Kim filed a lawsuit against Ahn and Chungcheongnam-do for damages of 300 million won.
Former Governor Ahn, who denied the allegations in the criminal trial, also denied the liability for damages in the civil suit, saying, "It was not an illegal act, there was no causal relationship, and there was no secondary harm."
