Münster / Kalkar (dpa / lnw) - Training in small groups outdoors is currently prohibited due to a decision by the Higher Administrative Court of North Rhine-Westphalia due to the corona pandemic.

A fitness trainer from Dortmund had sued the OVG against the state's Corona Protection Ordinance by express proceedings.

The trainer wanted to continue looking after his customers contactlessly in small groups of up to twelve participants.

However, according to information on Thursday, the court confirmed a decision of November 13 on the ban on recreational and amateur sports (Az .: 13 B 1780 / 20.NE, non-appealable decision of November 25, 2020).

The judges said that the trainer's freedom of occupation was profoundly impaired by the ban on recreational and amateur sports.

However, this is temporarily acceptable and proportionate also because of the announced federal economic aid.

The country wanted to understandably prevent the uncontrolled spread of infection with the coronavirus and thus significant dangers to life and limb with the measure.
