The International Tennis Federation (ITF) and the four Grand Slam tournaments announced Monday the establishment of financial assistance of "more than 300,000 dollars (270,000 euros)" in favor of wheelchair tennis, following the Covid pandemic -19.

According to world tennis leaders, "88 wheelchair tennis tournaments under the aegis of the ITF" will have been postponed or canceled between March 12 and July 31, the current dates of suspension of circuits managed by ATP, the WTA and the ITF, like that of wheelchair tennis.

ATP, WTA, ITF and the four Grand Slam tournaments (Australia, Roland-Garros, Wimbledon and US Open) had already announced the establishment of a $ 6 million solidarity fund (5, 5 M EUR) for professional players put in financial difficulties by the cessation of competitions due to the pandemic.

Some 800 players are affected.
