Düsseldorf (dpa / lnw) - With the corona numbers in NRW, the downward trend continues with a view to the weekly incidence.

For Wednesday, the Robert Koch Institute (RKI) reported 110.5 new infections per 100,000 inhabitants within 7 days.

On Tuesday, the weekly incidence was still 121.0.

However, according to the RKI, when interpreting the numbers, it should be noted that fewer samples were taken around Easter and fewer reports were sent to the health authorities.

At the same time, more than 2038 new cases were reported in NRW within one day than before.

New corona cases were reported to the RKI on Tuesday in 1988, and 1455 on Easter Monday. The number of deaths for Wednesday (as of 03:08 am) also rose to 59 reports.

On Tuesday 28 people in North Rhine-Westphalia and on Monday 11 people died of or in connection with the corona virus.

With an incidence of 178.4, the Märkische Kreis reached the highest value in the state, followed by the Siegen-Wittgenstein district (166.5), Remscheid (165.3) and Wuppertal (163.3).

The largest city in North Rhine-Westphalia, Cologne, was 136.5, Düsseldorf 96 and Dortmund 93.8 new infections per 100,000 inhabitants within a week, the situation was then best in the Paderborn district (53.6), in Münster (52) and in the district of Höxter (44.2).

If the 100 threshold is reached, special protective measures are required.
