Yesterday, the Lebanese Ministry of Public Health announced the registration of 532 new coronavirus cases, which brings the total number of confirmed cases to 13,687.
And it reached 75 critical cases as of yesterday. The number of these people is expected to increase, while hundreds of injuries are still recorded daily.
The high number of deaths is due to the increase in the number of injured, according to Dr. Edmond Abboud, an advisor to the Lebanese Minister of Health, Hamad Hassan, noting that the majority of the dead yesterday exceeded 70, and most of them suffer from incurable or chronic diseases, but they are "victims of the epidemic."

According to the report, about 16% of the victims are between 60 and 69 years old, and about 18% are between 50 and 59 years old, while the death rate for those over the age of 70 exceeds 56%.
The Lebanese Al-Akhbar newspaper quoted doctors as saying, “What we are witnessing today is not the second wave of the virus, but the culmination of the first wave. The main challenge will be to distinguish between infections, given the similarity of symptoms of Corona and seasonal influenza, and in the doubling of demand for respirators, because some are infected People with chronic flu diseases require hospitalization, and some of them urgently need respirators. "

As a result of this accelerated spread of the virus, the Supreme Defense Council in Lebanon today extended the general mobilization in the country until December 31.
