The new head coach Felix Magath will not be available for the Bundesliga club Hertha BSC, which is threatened with relegation, in the first game.
According to a club announcement, the “rescuer” tested positive for the corona virus on Thursday morning and must be represented by his assistant Mark Fotheringham at least against TSG Hoffenheim on Saturday (3:30 p.m. in the FAZ live ticker for the Bundesliga and on Sky).
Magath (68) had returned to the Bundesliga after ten years in order to ensure that the seventeenth-placed team would remain in the table as the successor to the dismissed Tayfun Korkut in the remaining eight games of the season.
"He is initially not available for training and games," Hertha tweeted: "He's fine so far, he's almost symptom-free.

Instead of preparing the team for the relegation battle, Magath is now sitting in isolation in his Berlin hotel room, according to SID information.
It is still uncertain whether he will still coach the Hertha professionals and prepare them for the game on Saturday.
