The nationwide seven-day incidence of new corona infections has fallen again.
According to the Robert Koch Institute (RKI), it was 1350.4 on Saturday morning.
On Friday it was 1371.7, a week ago it was 1474.3.
The incidence quantifies the number of new infections per 100,000 inhabitants over a period of seven days.
As the RKI announced, citing data from the health authorities, the number of new infections recorded within 24 hours on Saturday morning was 189,105, after 220,048 the day before and 209,789 a week ago.
In addition, according to the RKI, 210 new deaths related to the corona virus were recorded within 24 hours.
According to the RKI, the health authorities have registered a total of 13,445,094 cases of infection since the beginning of the pandemic.
The total number of recorded corona deaths in Germany has now risen to 121,202.
The RKI put the number of people who had recovered from corona disease in Germany at around 9.595 million.
Incidence values of around 400 to 3000
There are still large regional differences in the seven-day incidence.
The value was highest in the Bavarian district of Miltenberg (3065.0).
The Wittmund district in Lower Saxony recorded the lowest incidence nationwide at 385.1.
Hospitalization incidence highest in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania and Thuringia
In November, the federal and state governments had defined the so-called hospitalization incidence as the decisive benchmark for tightening or relaxing the corona measures.
This value indicates how many people per 100,000 inhabitants are hospitalized within seven days because of a corona infection.
According to the latest RKI report, the hospitalization incidence nationwide on Friday was 6.24.
A week earlier it had been 6.46.
