Federal Minister of Economics Peter Altmaier wants to extend further corona aid for companies until the end of the year.

The CDU politician said on Friday in Berlin that the bridging aid should be available for another six months.

These are subsidies for the fixed costs of companies if they can demonstrate a drop in sales due to the pandemic.

Altmaier said there are currently talks within the government.

Hopefully there will be clarity before the summer break.

Federal finance minister and SPD chancellor candidate Olaf Scholz had recently signaled support.

Corona help is also necessary in the second half of 2021.

It is difficult to imagine that the programs would stop abruptly in the summer.
