In a major control campaign against illegal parkers and traffic bullies, the city of Paris had 336 vehicles towed away and issued 1,216 traffic tickets.
The city announced on Wednesday that 2,000 officers were on duty during the check on Tuesday.
The aim was to protect pedestrians more.
There were 569 fines for illegal parking, 335 for traffic violations such as not giving way or driving over the sidewalk and 214 times red light offenders were caught at traffic lights.
Road users were asked about their misconduct 1,100 times without a penalty being imposed.
Paris has been making efforts to create more space for pedestrians and cyclists, while parking spaces have been reduced and most streets have been subject to a 30 km/h speed limit for several months.
