Three days after the assassination of Samuel Paty, professor of history and geography beheaded for giving a course on freedom of expression, the Minister of the Interior Gérald Darmanin pointed out on Europe 1 the role of social networks on Monday.

"We will have to put the work on hate online," he warned.

Social networks played a macabre role in the assassination of Samuel Paty.

Eleven days after giving a course on freedom of expression, during which he showed caricatures of Muhammad, this history-geo professor was assassinated, after having been the target of a campaign of indignation by Islamists on the internet.

This role of social networks has not escaped the government.

"We're going to have to put the work on hate back online," Interior Minister Garld Darmanin said on Europe 1 on Monday. "We can't keep spreading this kind of fatwa."
