Magdeburg (dpa / sa) - The stable requirement for poultry in Magdeburg, which has been in force since December, is lifted.

As of Wednesday, chickens, quails, ducks and other poultry no longer have to be kept in closed stalls or under a protective device, the city announced on Tuesday.

The risk of spreading avian influenza has decreased significantly.

The compulsory stable was imposed at the end of last year due to cases of avian influenza.

The official veterinarian Bodo Lüthke continues to advise you to pay more attention.

In particular, poultry farmers should prevent wild birds from accessing water and feed for domestic poultry.
