"Red agate" in the sand

  Lycium barbarum is a regional symbol, characteristic industry, and cultural brand of Ningxia. It is also a "red business card" facing the whole country and going to the world. From June to July every year, when you walk into the planting base of Zhongning, the "Hometown of Lycium", endless red rolls in, and the first stubble of wolfberry is covered with branches, crystal clear like agate. These small red fruits growing in sandy soil are also the "golden peas" in the hearts of farmers.

  During the harvest season, the production of daylily in Hongsibao exceeded 14,000 tons, with a comprehensive output value of 420 million yuan, accounting for more than 30% of the local annual agricultural output value.

  In March of this year, Hongsibao District successfully took off the national poverty-stricken counties. Tan Xingling, deputy secretary of the Hongsipu District Committee and the mayor of the government, told reporters that they will increase the promotion of new varieties and scientific research to make the daylily industry a leading brand in the agricultural industry in western China.

"Natural Medicine Bank" in Liupan Mountain

  "Our astragalus, dangshen and other products are mainly sold to Guangdong, Fujian, Hong Kong and other places.   The Liupan Mountain in Ningxia has diverse climate and suitable ecology. There are 618 species of medicinal plants of 90 families in three floras of Northwest, North China and Qinghai-Tibet Plateau. There are authentic Chinese medicinal materials such as Astragalus, Gentiana, Bupleurum, Scutellaria, Radix. At the same time, the Xihaigu area under Liupan Mountain is the starting point of China's poverty alleviation history. At present, the Chinese medicinal material industry that has emerged here has transformed into a pillar for farmers to get rich and increase their income.

  It has also attracted investment from many outsiders. Jiang Wende, a native of Fuyang, Anhui, is the chairman of Mingde Chinese Medicine Decoction Pieces Co., Ltd. He came to Guyuan to buy land and build a factory in 2002 from China (Bozhou) Chinese Medicine Trading Center, the world's largest Chinese herbal medicine market. After nearly two decades of development, Mingde has become the first Chinese medicinal material manufacturer approved as a "national high-tech enterprise" in Ningxia. Its annual sales have been maintained at more than 100 million yuan for many years, with a profit of more than 20 million yuan, helping many local farmers Embarked on the road of getting rid of poverty and becoming rich.

  Over the years of development, authentic medicinal materials such as Astragalus and Gentiana are recognized as geographical indications by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs. Ningxia has initially formed a development pattern of "farmers + cooperatives + enterprises + bases".
