Coalition disputes corona limit value for distance teaching

Munich (dpa / lby) - In the dispute over the Corona requirements, for example at schools in Bavaria, the CSU and free voters have to get together again in the cabinet this morning (11 a.m.).

In the past few days, the Free Voters had repeatedly made demands as to how provisions of the federal emergency brake, which are less strict than the Bavarian rules, should also be applied in the Free State.

In particular, they criticized the exit restrictions and the compulsory distance teaching in schools with an incidence of 100 new infections per 100,000 inhabitants within seven days.

The CSU, on the other hand, continues to rely on the implementation of the Bavarian requirements and, for its part, refused, for example, a change of instruction up to the incidence 165. When it comes to the exit restriction, the CSU is against the possibility provided by the federal emergency brake that people in hotspots with an incidence of 100 or more are allowed to go outside the door after 10 p.m. until midnight, for example to jog.

Formally, no vote in the cabinet is necessary for an extension of the measures, which is why an abstention by the Free Voters would initially have no consequences.

However, the procedure would disrupt the usual practice of extending the regulations in the pandemic.

Because after the cabinet, the CSU and Free Voters always carry the course with their majority through the state parliament, here the CSU would then have to rely on votes from the opposition for a vote.

The free voters have been mobilizing against the federal emergency brake for a long time - among other things, they are trying to overturn the regulation via their federal association by making an urgent application to the Federal Constitutional Court.

At the same time, however, they are also bothered by the fact that Bavaria has always implemented the stricter regulations from both the federal emergency brake and the Bavarian ordinance.

The regional board of the FW decided on this course on Sunday.
