From time to time, the Turks attack Northern Syria, where, among others, Kurdish fighters are located.

These attacks have been going on since August this year, but now they have found an additional reason - a terrorist attack in Istanbul on the Istiklal walking street.

Six people died there, many were injured.

Within 24 hours, the bomber was detained and, according to Turkish authorities, she admitted that she was equipped by the Kurds of Northern Syria.

A week passed, and on Sunday Turkey launched a special military operation "Claw and Sword" against Kurdish militants.

Aviation started.

The Turks bombed the bases, where, among others, there were also Kurdish militants.

Simultaneously with the Turkish attacks, Iranian aircraft bombed Iraqi Kurdistan.

According to the Iranians, the Kurds of Iraq are undermining internal harmony in Iran and fanning the flames of rebellion.

The Kurds of Northern Syria and Iraq enjoy the support of the United States, which has long settled there.

The Americans have built several bases for themselves, pump oil for free, fight the legitimate authorities of Syria and incite the Kurds to Tehran.

No one in Europe resents the US invasion, their occupation of Syrian territory and the exploitation and theft of Syrian oil.

This is the "established rules": the United States can do anything.

Iran and Russia are allies in the “Astana Triangle” (this is the name of the Turkey-Iran-Russia forum on Syria).

Russia treats Turkish protests against the Kurds, and even more so the Americans, with understanding.

But not only Kurds live in the north of Syria: the majority there are Sunni Arabs.

Now Turkey wants to create a gray zone along the border for 30 km from the Syrian side and knock out Kurdish militants from there.

President Putin urged President Erdogan to be careful.

And Erdogan, in turn, demanded that Russia comply with the terms of the Sochi agreement.

Russia also refers to the Sochi agreement, which at one time calmed the north of Syria.

Joint patrols were also introduced, which then ceased to operate.

The agreement was concluded when the United States was about to withdraw from Syria, but then they decided to stay - under the far-fetched pretext that, they say, ISIS*, however, was finally defeated, but not irrevocably.

Or vice versa.

Chief Russian negotiator Alexander Lavrentyev said the Kurds could be dealt with if the Americans went home.

But while they remain in Syria, the agreements hang.

The United States at first warned Turkey against sending troops to Syria, but then changed its mind and gave the green light.

The Turks managed to hit one American base - however, there were no American soldiers there, only their allies.

But this was enough - and the Turks were given the go-ahead.

Turkey can further expand its zone of control if necessary, they said.

One aircraft will not do.

I would like them to push the Americans out of Syria, but Erdogan will try to avoid a clash with the Americans.

And the war in Syria continues indefinitely with no end in sight.

How far will Operation Claw and Sword go?

It's not clear yet.

According to Turkish data, 200 Kurdish fighters were killed.

In the meantime, there were plans to organize a meeting between Erdogan and President Bashar al-Assad.

They could meet in Russia, and President Putin would play the role of peacemaker.

Once upon a time, many years ago, Erdogan and Bashar al-Assad not only met, but were also friendly families.

But then President Erdogan believed that the throne under Assad was tottering and that not today or tomorrow the Islamists would drive him out.

But Assad resisted.

Recently, the Turkish ruler even said that he would certainly meet with the Syrian president if he came to the summit in Uzbekistan.

But Bashar did not come and they did not meet.

A meeting of the presidents under the auspices of Russia would play a huge role.

It could end the war in Syria.

Only Turkey saves the Syrian rebels.

Here the only support of militants in the north of Syria would have collapsed.

It would also be a victory for Russia, which entered the war when Assad was barely holding on.
