Al-Houthi’s Al-Masirah channel reported that 20 civilians were killed and 7 wounded, most of them women and children, in raids of the Saudi-Emirati coalition in Al-Jawf governorate, northeast of Yemen.

The channel quoted the health official in Al-Jouf that the raids Thursday targeted 3 cars carrying civilians in the Shaab Ahrad area of the Khub and Al-Sha`f district, noting that the victims were from the Al-Atara tribe, and that a number of the wounded were taken to a hospital in Al-Hazm city, the governorate center.

The channel published pictures of the bodies of a number of the victims of the bombing, and described what happened as a massacre committed by "the aggression airline," in reference to the coalition that has been waging war in Yemen since 2015.

Sources reported to the island that at least 9 civilians were killed and others wounded in raids by coalition aircraft on Al-Jawf.

Last month, the Khub and Al Sha`f district was subjected to similar raids that resulted in dozens of civilian dead and wounded, according to the Houthi group.

Earlier Thursday, Al Masirah TV reported that an air strike had targeted Saada governorate, north of Yemen, on the border with Saudi Arabia.

In the face of international criticism, the coalition has previously acknowledged "mistakes" that have caused the deaths of civilians during air strikes against the Houthis in Yemen, and international organizations confirm that the Saudi-Emirati coalition raids have killed thousands of civilians dead and injured in this country.

For its part, the coalition said that on Thursday it had shot down a plane loaded with explosives launched by the Houthis from Al-Hodeidah Governorate (western Yemen), and was on its way to carry out an attack inside Saudi territory.
