Presented to the press on April 24, 1961, the Citroën Ami 6 was described at the time as a “big little car” because of its generous roominess.
Built on a 2CV chassis, it existed as a sedan and as a station wagon: it is the latter which has sold the best.
Assembled in Rennes in what was then a brand new factory, the Ami 6 had a 602 cc engine developing 22 hp!
Yvonne De Gaulle's personal car, the sedan version of the small Citroën was characterized by its rear window.
A singular choice, the objective of which was to keep the glasses clean in rainy weather.
More than a million copies of the little Frenchwoman will be built until 1971.
