The man, who voluntarily left his post within the Church of Sweden, was charged in mid-October last year.

According to the indictment, he allegedly subjected a close girl to recurring abuse between 2010 and 2018.

The man was acquitted at the end of last year in Växjö District Court when the court, among other things, considered that technical evidence was lacking.

The verdict was appealed by the prosecutor and now the Göta Court of Appeal makes the same assessment as the district court and acquits the man.

The Court of Appeal considers, among other things, that there are too great shortcomings in the circumstances surrounding the abuses and when they should have occurred, reports P4 Kronoberg.

Both the district court and the court of appeal have disagreed in their judgments.
