China News Agency, Berlin, August 8. Vienna news: The United States and Iran resumed negotiations on the implementation of the comprehensive agreement on the Iranian nuclear issue after a lapse of five months.

Wang Qun, a Chinese negotiator and China's permanent representative to the United Nations in Vienna, said in an interview with reporters on the 8th that the negotiations are currently facing precious opportunities, and it is hoped that the United States will immediately make a political decision and push for an early agreement in the negotiations.

Wang Qun said that the resumption of talks this time fully demonstrates that insisting on bridging differences through dialogue and negotiation is the only correct way out.

After more than a year of unremitting efforts by all parties involved in the negotiation, the prospect of reaching an agreement to resume the implementation of the contract is imminent.

But if this opportunity is not grasped properly, it will be fleeting.

It is hoped that all parties will seize the current window of opportunity, adopt a flexible and pragmatic attitude, respect each other's concerns and interests, create a favorable atmosphere, and creatively solve individual negotiation outstanding issues in a packaged manner, so as to push for a successful conclusion of the negotiation.

Wang Qun pointed out that the United States has recently increased its threat to Iran many times, and has also imposed new sanctions on many entities, including China. What it has done will not help promote negotiations, but will lead to an escalation of the situation.

As the initiator of the current Iranian nuclear crisis, the US should have a clear understanding of the situation, show sincerity, abandon politicization and "double standards" on non-proliferation issues, and immediately make a political decision to push for the resumption of negotiations between the US and Iran on the implementation of the treaty at an early date.

Wang Qun stressed that the Chinese side has been constructively encouraging peace and promoting negotiations, and strived to achieve results in the negotiations.

But it must be pointed out that an important premise for doing this is that our legitimate rights and interests are protected. Any attempt to harm China's interests is unacceptable, and no country should have unrealistic illusions about this.

Wang Qun finally said that at present, the century-old changes and the epidemic of the century are intertwined, and the world has entered a period of turbulent change.

China's constructive participation in the resumption of the implementation negotiations and the return of the JCPOA implementation to the right track is a firm step on the road of practicing genuine multilateralism, and it is also a practical exploration of building a community with a shared future for mankind and a new type of international relations.

We firmly believe that the international community is no longer a jungle world. Unilateralism moves against the trend of history and will eventually devour itself; multilateralism is the only feasible solution to global challenges.

The common, comprehensive, cooperative and sustainable new security concept and global security initiative proposed by President Xi Jinping are the "golden key" to solve international and regional security issues, and the practice of genuine multilateralism is the general trend.
