Fruitful achievements in the development of transportation
For economic development, transportation must go first.
Li Xiaopeng, Minister of Transport, introduced that since the 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, transport has played an important role in serving the construction of a well-off society in an all-round way, and has achieved historic achievements——
The comprehensive three-dimensional transportation network is improving day by day.
The main skeleton space of the national comprehensive three-dimensional transportation network with six axes, seven corridors and eight channels has been initially formed. High-speed railways cover more than 95% of cities with a population of more than one million, and expressways cover more than 98% of cities with a population of more than 200,000. Civil transportation airports cover more than 92% of prefecture-level cities.
Service capabilities and levels have been significantly improved.
The rapid formation of a large-capacity, high-efficiency and fast passenger service system based on high-speed rail and aviation has accelerated. EMU trains have undertaken 70% of railway passenger traffic. The normal rate of civil aviation flights has exceeded 80% for three consecutive years. The pace of road passenger operation upgrades has accelerated.
The freight transport structure is continuously optimized. From 2016 to 2020, the proportion of railway in freight volume will increase from 7.6% to 9.8%, and the proportion of water transport will increase from 14.5% to 16.4%.
The development of new business forms and new models is accelerating. Online taxi reservations cover more than 300 cities in China, with an average daily order volume of 20 million.
"The civil aviation industry has played a unique advantage in improving traffic conditions in remote areas, optimizing the business environment, and expanding the road to wealth." Dong Zhiyi, deputy director of the Civil Aviation Administration of China, introduced that during the "13th Five-Year Plan" period, my country's new aviation population will be 210 million people. The passenger throughput of airports in poverty alleviated areas has increased from 28 million in 2012 to 78 million in 2019, an increase of more than 170%. Air services have covered 82.6% of the population in poverty-stricken areas.
Liu Zhenfang, director of the National Railway Administration, said that since the 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, the scale and quality of the railway network has been rapidly improved, with 53,000 kilometers of newly put into operation railways, of which 31,000 kilometers of new high-speed railways have been put into operation, passenger turnover and freight delivery. The main economic indicators of railway transportation, such as transportation volume and freight turnover volume, rank first in the world.
The safety and green level of transportation continued to improve.
By the end of 2020, there were 466,000 new energy buses, accounting for 66.2% of the total urban buses.
The national railway electrification rate reached 74.9%, the recycling rate of waste materials on highway roads reached 95%, and the utilization rate of express recyclable transit bags reached 93.8%.
Facilitate travel and increase income
To build a well-off society in an all-round way is inseparable from the improvement of transportation infrastructure.
In particular, the construction of rural roads has not only facilitated the daily travel of the people, but also effectively promoted the income generation and increase of farmers.
"Rural roads are public welfare and basic facilities that serve the'three rural areas'." Li Xiaopeng introduced that since the 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, 2.357 million kilometers of rural roads have been built or rebuilt across the country.
At present, the total mileage of rural roads is 4.38 million kilometers, accounting for 84.3% of the total road mileage in the country.
"Last year, we realized the access to hardened roads and passenger cars in qualified towns and villages, benefiting more than 500 million peasants."
As the e-commerce industry continues to mature, many farmers have now become anchors for carrying goods.
The increasingly perfect logistics system provides a strong guarantee for express delivery to the countryside and into the city.
"At present, a modern postal industry that is compatible with a well-off society has been fully established." Ma Junsheng, director of the State Post Bureau, said that in recent years, the equalization of universal postal services has been basically achieved, business outlets have achieved full coverage of towns and villages, and all organized villages have achieved direct mail.
The express network coverage is more extensive, with a coverage rate of 98% in township outlets, and more than half of the services delivered directly to the village. The full time limit of express delivery services in key areas has been shortened to 58 hours.
"Through the promotion of'express delivery to the countryside and express delivery into the village', 100 million parcels on the entire network go to the countryside every day, greatly improving the convenience for farmers to purchase industrial daily necessities." Accelerate the construction of a powerful transportation country

Li Xiaopeng introduced that building a world-leading transportation power that satisfies the people and has strong guarantees is a two-step process: by 2035, it will basically be a transportation power; by the middle of this century, it will be a transportation power in an all-round way.
To this end, it is necessary to realize "three transformations" and create "four first-rate".
