China News Service, Beijing, June 11 (Guo Chaokai) reporter learned from the China National Space Administration that at 2:31 on June 11, China successfully launched the Ocean One D star with the Long March 2C carrier rocket at the Taiyuan Satellite Launch Center. The star will form China’s first maritime civil service satellite constellation with Ocean One C star.

The first constellation of satellites for marine civil operations will greatly enhance China's ability to effectively observe global ocean colors, coastal resources and ecological environment, and will be of great significance for carrying out global climate change research, coping with global warming and ecological civilization construction faced by mankind, etc. , Will open a new era of China's natural resource satellite land and sea overall development, and help the construction of a strong marine nation.

Ocean One D star is China's fourth marine aquatic series satellite and one of the first marine business satellites in the national civil space infrastructure planning. The star will conduct network observations in the morning and afternoon with Ocean One C, which was successfully launched in 2018, to fill the gap in the absence of observation data for China’s ocean color satellites in the afternoon.

The double-star network observation can double the daily observation frequency and the obtained observation data. The afternoon observation of sea areas affected by solar flares in the morning can be avoided, and the observation areas covered by clouds and unobserved areas in the morning can be compensated in the afternoon. This move can greatly improve the effective observation capabilities of the global ocean color, coastal zone resources and ecological environment, for the global ocean water temperature and water temperature operational monitoring, China's offshore waters and island coastal zone resource and environment survey, marine disaster prevention and mitigation, sustainable use of marine resources , Marine ecology early warning and environmental protection provide data services, and provide support for meteorological, agricultural, water conservancy, transportation and other industry applications, marking that China ranks among the forefront of the international marine aquatic remote sensing field.

Ocean One D Star adopts the CAST2000 satellite platform independently developed by China and is equipped with five payloads with the same performance as Ocean One C Star. Among them, the ocean water color and water temperature scanner is used to detect the global ocean water color elements and sea surface temperature field, and the spatial resolution 1.1km, width greater than 2900km, detection coverage period is one day; coastal zone imager is used to obtain ecological environment information of near-shore water environment, coastal zone, rivers and lakes, spatial resolution is 50m, width is greater than 950km The detection coverage period is three days; the ultraviolet imager is used for atmospheric correction of high turbid water near the shore; the calibration spectrometer is used to monitor the accuracy and stability of the on-orbit radiation of the water color temperature scanner and the ultraviolet imager; the ship automatic identification system is used to obtain Ocean vessel location information.

The ocean color elements of load detection can be used to carry out operational monitoring and scientific research on aquatic environment, water quality, ocean fisheries, sea temperature, sea water, red tide, green tide, coastal zone and polar scientific research, so that marine satellite data can be used in marine environment monitoring, marine Disaster monitoring, marine resource development and management, marine scientific research, and international and regional cooperation have been widely and deeply applied.

It is reported that the China National Space Administration is responsible for the implementation and management of the Ocean One D-Star project. The Earth Observation and Data Center of the China National Space Administration is the overall project; the Ministry of Natural Resources is the lead user department, and the National Satellite Marine Application Center under the Ministry of Natural Resources Project legal person.

Ocean One D Star and Changzheng Two C Carrier Rockets were developed by China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation Limited, China Academy of Space Technology Aerospace Dongfanghong Satellite Co., Ltd. and China Launch Vehicle Technology Research Institute respectively. The launch and measurement and control tasks of the Star Arrow are organized and implemented by the Ministry of Satellite Launch and Control System of China; in the follow-up, the National Satellite Marine Application Center will organize satellite in-orbit testing with relevant application units to ensure that the satellites are put into operation on time. This launch is the 334th launch of the Long March series of launch vehicles. (Finish)
