China News Service, Shanghai, March 1 (Yin Liqin, He Baoxin, Deng Xiao) On February 28, Hudong Zhonghua Shipbuilding (Group) Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of China State Shipbuilding Corporation, and China State Shipbuilding Industry Trading Co., Ltd. built the ship for the French CMA CGM Shipping Group. The 15,000TEU ultra-large container ship "CMA CGM Adonis" was named in Shanghai.

This is not only the last of the five conventional power series container ships tailored for CMA CGM Group, which has achieved the established goal of naming and delivering one ship per month on average, but also following the five world's first, largest and most advanced container ships built by the company. After the advanced 23,000TEU dual-fuel powered container ship, another ultra-large container ship project that was highly sought after by the market came to a successful conclusion, further consolidating its position as a global ultra-large container ship construction base.

The ship is the "Hercules" series of "Hercules" independently developed and designed by China Shipbuilding Corporation's No. 708. The total length is 366 meters, the width is 51 meters, and the carrying capacity reaches 15536TEU. Company (BV).

During the construction of this series of ships, Hudong Zhonghua insisted on technological innovation, kept improving, and created high-quality ships. The overall quality has been further optimized, especially showing two major technical highlights that lead the green development of global super-large container ships.

One is the world's first large container ship with a new system for nitrogen removal and desulfurization.

That is, the main engine and generator are equipped with a nitrogen removal device (SCR) and a hybrid desulfurization device. Compared with the same type of fuel tank ship, the main engine sulfur-carbon ratio is about 1.2, the generator sulfur-carbon ratio is about 2.0, and the nitrogen oxide emission is reduced by 87%. Sulphur oxide emissions have been reduced by 83%, far below international emission standards, fully meeting the latest International Maritime Organization (IMO) requirements for nitrogen oxides (NOx) and sulfur oxides (SOx) emissions, as well as the Ship Energy Efficiency Design Index (EEDI) Stage 3 requirements.

Second, it is the first large container ship in the world to adopt the new technology of anti-rolling cabin and anti-rolling system.

The system can effectively reduce the roll angle of the ship by 5-8 degrees when encountering severe sea conditions, whether under no-load or loaded conditions, which can significantly improve the safety of the ship and the comfort of the crew, and can significantly reduce the loss of cargo.

Hudong Zhonghua constantly surpasses itself and achieves the goal of "shorter construction period and better product quality".

After a series of innovations and optimizations, the ship has the characteristics of economical efficiency, comfort and safety, large container capacity, low fuel consumption per tank, and can be flexibly arranged in various important routes around the world. It has become another flagship ship of Chinese shipbuilding.

It is reported that the "CMA CGM Adonis" will be delivered from the factory on March 4, ahead of the contract period.

In addition, preparations for the production of six 13,000TEU ultra-large dual-fuel powered container ships built by Hudong Zhonghua CMA CGM are in full swing, and they are scheduled to start construction in March, which is expected to become another star ship type in China's shipbuilding industry.
