(hereinafter referred to as "China Southern Airlines"), Air China Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "Air China") and China China Eastern Airlines Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "China Eastern Airlines") announced on the 1st that the three companies purchased 292 A320NEO series aircraft from Airbus (hereinafter referred to as "Airbus").

  Among them, China Southern Airlines purchased 96 A320NEO series aircraft from Airbus at a base price of approximately US$12.248 billion.

  Air China and its holding subsidiaries purchased 96 A320NEO series aircraft.

Among them, the company and its wholly-owned subsidiaries purchased 64 Airbus A320NEO series aircraft; Shenzhen Airlines Co., Ltd., a holding subsidiary of the company, purchased 32 Airbus A320NEO series aircraft.

The base price totals approximately $12.213 billion.

  China Eastern Airlines purchased 100 A320NEO series aircraft with a total base price of approximately US$12.796 billion.

  The three airlines mentioned above all stated that Airbus gave the company a relatively large price concession, so the actual price of these aircraft was significantly lower than the above-mentioned basic price.

  The nearly 300 aircraft mentioned above are scheduled to be delivered to the three Chinese airlines in batches from 2023 to 2027.

  In response to the reasons and impact of this transaction, China Southern believes that this aircraft transaction is in line with the company's fleet development strategy. According to the company's comprehensive assessment, it is now a favorable window for aircraft introduction negotiations. The aircraft transaction will help enhance the company's market competitiveness.

  Air China stated that this transaction is in line with Air China's planned development and market demand, and is conducive to the optimization of the fleet structure and long-term capacity replenishment of the company and its holding subsidiaries (hereinafter collectively referred to as the "Group").

This transaction will expand the carrying capacity of the Group's fleet, which will make the Group's operating costs more competitive in the market, and at the same time will help provide passengers with a high level of safety and comfort.

  China Eastern Airlines stated that the purchase of aircraft was concluded in accordance with general commercial and industry practices, which will help the company to further optimize its fleet structure, supplement the capacity of narrow-body aircraft, improve its route network, and enhance the passenger experience.
