  The report shows that, affected by this, the number of companies that carried out special auctions of cultural relics and artworks fell to 202 that year, but the turnover increased by 15.22% over the previous year, reaching 26.406 billion yuan (excluding buyer's commission).

As of the time of statistics (May 15, 2021), a total of 12.472 billion yuan has been settled.

  In comparison, in 2020, the global auction turnover of Chinese cultural relics and artworks was US$5.7 billion (approximately 39.3 billion yuan, including buyer’s commission), a decrease of 0.5% from the previous year.

  Among them, the overseas transaction volume has shrunk by nearly one-third, and the Chinese mainland market will account for about 76% of the global share in 2020.

  At the same time, domestic auctions held through the Internet have seen a substantial increase.

  According to data from the "2020 China Cultural Relics and Art Auction Market Statistical Annual Report", in 2020, 94% of auctions will be held online, with a total of 5,499 auctions. Volume and turnover increased by 100.33% and 77.79% respectively over the previous year.

  From the perspective of high-priced lots, in 2020, there will be a total of 28 Chinese cultural relics and artworks sold globally for more than 100 million yuan, more than five times the amount in 2013.

Among them, 17 were domestic and 11 were overseas.
