"Suspect is in custody following ... the Highland Park shooting," CBS Chicago reported, citing a source close to the investigation.
Earlier it was reported that in the state of Illinois there was a mass shooting during the parade in honor of the US Independence Day.
According to the latest data, as a result of the incident, six people died and 24 were injured.
US police have identified the suspect.
