China News Service, Hong Kong, February 20. The Chief Executive of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, Carrie Lam Cheng Yuet-ngor, said on the 20th that although the road to combating the epidemic is not easy, the Hong Kong society is mature and tenacious, and the citizens actively cooperate. They are convinced that with the help of the society and the SAR government, and the central government will continue to work as always. With the strong support of Hong Kong, Hong Kong will be able to get out of the predicament.

Carrie Lam made the above remarks when she delivered a video speech at the Hong Kong Girl Guides Association's online Chinese New Year celebration for the Year of the Tiger.

She said that over the past two years, the world, including Hong Kong, has been living under the shadow of the pandemic.

It goes without saying that the challenges faced by the entire Hong Kong society are enormous; and the fifth wave of the epidemic is undoubtedly very serious.

She pointed out that this year is the Year of the Tiger. The tiger symbolizes strength and prestige in Chinese culture, and it has the image of warding off disasters in houses. She hopes to cheer for Hong Kong and fight the epidemic.

Lam Cheng Yuet-ngor said that the Hong Kong Girl Guides Association has always been committed to caring for girls and helping young women develop their potential, and has been persistent for more than a hundred years.

It is particularly worth mentioning that during the anti-epidemic period, we will do our best to not only support those in need, but also actively develop online learning plans during the suspension of classes to continue to provide services for young people.

She expressed her heartfelt thanks to the Association.
