The 33rd African Cup of Nations (CAN 2021) will finally take place in January 2022 in Cameroon, due to the Covid-19.

Fifty-one countries are in the running to be part of the 24 teams that will play in the final phase of CAN 2021. We will know all the qualified after the 152 qualifying matches, organized between October 2019 and March 2021. Here is the schedule update, results and rankings of these qualifications.

51 countries are on the starting line for the 23 remaining places in the final phase of

CAN 2021

, which will exceptionally take place in January 2022 because of the Covid-19.


Eight selections contested a preliminary round, organized in October 2019.


The winners of these round-trip confrontations joined the 44 other nations

already divided into twelve groups

The first two of each group - with the exception of group F where

Cameroon is automatically qualified

- will take part in the 33rd edition of the tournament.
