The investigation is progressing slowly, four days after the tragedy.
Saturday evening, a 14-year-old teenager was killed in a collision in Gâvre, north of Loire-Atlantique.
The victim was in the back of a scooter, driven by a 15-year-old young man, when they were struck from behind by the driver of a van at around 8:30 p.m.
The pilot of the two-wheeler survived but was seriously injured and transported to the Nantes University Hospital.
Blain's gendarmerie launched a call for witnesses Tuesday on social networks to find out more about the circumstances of the tragedy.

, the driver of the van was indicted earlier this week.
The 40-year-old man was driving with almost two grams of alcohol per liter of blood when the fatal accident occurred.
He was remanded in custody.
