Lyon got off to a good start in its Europa League by going to beat Glasgow Rangers (2-0), just like Monaco, winner of Graz (1-0) while Marseille was joined at the end of the match (1-1) by the Lokomotiv Moscow.

Steven Gerrard's Rangers conceded the opening goal in the first period, with a superb goal from Toko Ekambi (23rd).

Then OL doubled the stake thanks to a goal against its own camp from defender James Tavernier (55th), first attributed to Islam Slimani.

In Monaco, the arrival of Sturm Graz should allow players from the Principality to reassure themselves, after a sluggish start to the season in Ligue 1. It was not until the second period that Niko Kovac's men took a decisive and sufficient advantage, on a superb header from Krepin Diatta (66th) well served by Aleksandr Golovin.

In Moscow, on the lawn of Lokomotiv, 3rd in the Russian championship, OM had to be content with a 1-1 draw after dominating almost the entire match and taking the advantage on the hour mark, on a penalty from his Turkish striker Cengiz Ünder (59th).

The Russians then ended the game 10-11 with Ünder fouling Tiknizyan sent off.

But they managed to equalize, against the course of the game, on a nice shot from Anjorin (89th).

In the other Group E game, Turks Galatasaray beat Lazio Rome 1-0.

The big shock of this 1st day opposed Leicester to Naples.

The Foxes opened the scoring by Ayoze Pérez (9th), then doubled the bet by Harvey Barnes (64th), but Victor Osimhen, the former Lille, then struck twice (69th, 87th) and saved the Neapolitans .

Another twisty match pitted PSV Eindhoven against Real Sociedad, who led 2-1 at the break on the Dutch lawn.

Then the PSV equalized at 2-2, thanks in particular to its German world champion, "Super Mario" Götze.

The first big score of this first big night of the Europa League came from Seville: Betis made the powder speak against the Scots of Celtic Glasgow (4-3), by recovering a deficit of two goals to go from 0-2 to 4-2, then finish at 4-3.

Logical winner, Bayer Leverkusen defeated Ferencvaros (2-1), while an away victory (2-0) rewarded the efforts of the English West Ham on the lawn of Dinamo Zagreb and that the Belgians of Genk went to win at the Rapid of Vienna (1-0).
