Chelsea won 4-0 on the lawn of Krasnodar and temporarily seized the lead in the group E standings at the end of the second day of the Champions League.

After being hooked by Sevilla at home (0-0), Chelsea was reassured before receiving Rennes next week.

In lack of automatism on the front of the attack, the English took advantage of a gross hand fault by the young Matvey Safonov (21) on a strike from Callum Hudson-Odoi (37th).

Chelsea could have opened the scoring in the 12th minute from the penalty spot but Jorginho missed his duel against the Russian goalkeeper and saw his shot hit the post.

Timo Werner, he was quick to transform his penalty (76th) and score his first goal in C1 this season.

For his first tenure with Chelsea, Hakim Ziyech (arrived this summer from Ajax Amsterdam) weighed down the mark with a left-footed strike (79th).

Entered during the game, Christian Pulisic completed the score (90th).

But the training of Murad Musaev, still deprived of Rémy Cabella, tested positive for Covid-19, was not unworthy and worried Edouard Mendy on several occasions.

The Senegalese goalkeeper, once again decisive in several actions, was notably saved by his crossbar on a volley from Yuri Gazinski (55th).

After a series of three draws (two in the league and one in the Champions League), Frank Lampard's men have found their way back to victory.
